FACELIFT - HIGH SMAS AND DEEP PLANE FACELIFT

With the High SMAS lifting, the fascia layer under the three layers of skin is tightened, giving the face new freshness from deep down. The result is a permanently rejuvenated face.

The High SMAS Lifting is a further development of the well-known SMAS Lifting method, named after the subcutaneous fascia system (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System). Like all other structures in the body, this tissue is subject to aging processes. As we age, it loses its tone and elasticity, which causes the epidermis to pull down with it. Tightening the SMAS gives the face a more youthful, fresher appearance.

In contrast to the usual method, with the High SMAS lifting it is possible to tighten beyond the cheekbones and also to carefully shape the cheek pads, hence the high in the name. In addition, the middle face is also reached and lifted. This ensures a naturally beautiful look and avoids the impression of a face that is too tight. During the procedure, which is carried out under general anesthesia, the SMAS is first lifted and then the excess skin is removed.

A deep plane facelift involves operating on an even deeper layer. The technique is usually used on patients in whom the excess skin is less and does not need to be lifted far. The lifting effect is also achieved in the deeper layer through the SMAS lifting.

Results can last between 10-15 years. However, you cannot stop the natural aging process.

CLASSIC FACELIFT

A classic facelift is the preferred treatment for the cheeks, jawline, jawline, neck and neck.

With a classic facelift, the plastic surgeon tightens a deep layer of tissue towards the hairline (cheekbone). The incision extends from the hairline in front of and behind the ears to the hairline. The skin on the face and neck is loosened, after which the skin and underlying muscles and connective tissue are lifted. The surgeon tenses the muscles in the front of the neck through the side of the face. If necessary, another small incision is made under the chin for platysmaplasty. Finally, excess skin is removed and stitched. The operation takes approx.

4-5 hours and takes place under general anesthesia.

FACELIFT LOWER FACIAL AREA

The facelift, also called mini facelift, is the preferred treatment for sagging cheeks, jaw and jawline.

The incision runs at the level of the cheekbone along the front of the ears. The skin on the face is loosened, after which the plastic surgeon lifts the skin and the underlying muscles and connective tissue. The surgeon tenses the muscles on the front of the face, then the excess skin is removed and stitched up. The operation takes place under general anesthesia and takes approximately 3 hours.

FACELIFT UPPER FACIAL AREA

With the help of the forehead lift - temple lift (upper facelift) you can achieve an impressive change in the facial expression in the forehead and temple regions as well as the eyebrow area. The facial expression during a facelift is determined by the eyebrows, the eyelids and the wrinkles on the forehead skin. If the forehead skin loses its fixation, it moves downwards due to gravity, which becomes visible in the drooping of the eyebrows. If the eye area is visually smaller, you appear tired and sad. Age-related deep forehead wrinkles can make this tired and unfriendly facial expression even worse.

Firming of the forehead and temples

During a forehead lift, the eyebrows are raised and annoying wrinkles are tightened. The result of the forehead lift can be easily simulated in the mirror. Raising the eyebrows opens the eyes and tightens the eyelid and cheek skin, resulting in a very impressive rejuvenation. A combined correction often makes more sense, as an isolated measure such as eyelid correction only changes the problem on one side. During the temporal lift or temple lift, a small incision is made in the scalp of the temple region. The later scars are almost invisible. Through this procedure, the skin on the sides of the forehead and temples can be smoothed and tightened. Excess skin is removed from the temple region. The skin then maintains its position. The result is permanent and only diminishes with the natural aging process. The scars are small and hidden in the hair. The operation is carried out under general anesthesia and lasts between approx. 2 hours.

MIDFACE LIFT

This special facelift method can be used at a relatively young age if weak connective tissue leads to premature skin aging. The fatty padding, which is located in the area of the cheekbone in young skin, sags downwards, causing the typical bags under the eyes and sagging cheeks to form in the corners of the mouth. The midface lift is therefore ideal as a complement to lower eyelid surgery, in which not only the bags under the eyes but also the sunken cheek area and nasolabial folds can be effectively treated at the same time, without an additional incision.

An incision is made on the lower eyelid, which is moved slightly outward. The connective tissue and the muscles underneath, as well as the fatty tissue if necessary, are then lifted and attached to the periosteum at the outer corner of the eyelid. The aim of the procedure is to shift the sunken volume to the cheekbone area and to tighten the midface by removing excess skin. In this procedure, the position of deeper skin structures is changed. The slightly tightened skin then lies over it without wrinkles, so that a mask-like appearance is avoided and the individual expression of the face is preserved. The procedure is carried out under general anesthesia and takes approximately 2-3 hours.

TREATMENTS THAT CAN BE COMBINED INTO A FACELIFT

Eyelid correction, lip lift, forehead lift, temporal lift, fox eye, neck lift, liquid lift & Lipofilling: When filling deeper wrinkles such as the nose-lip fold and pupal lines (the wrinkles that extend from the corners of the mouth to the jaw), the plastic surgeon may offer lipofilling treatment. The body's own fat is used to correct or add volume to parts of the face.

RISKS AND RECOVERY

Bruising may occur. The skin may feel strange, tight and numb for a few weeks after treatment. Very rarely, small infections occur around the wounds, which heal fairly quickly. Scars cannot be prevented but are minimally visible due to the location of the incision. The tightness around the mouth (with classic and lower facelifts) can cause discomfort when eating or brushing your teeth in the first week. As the week progresses, the feeling around the mouth becomes softer. In addition, you should take into account that you cannot do strenuous physical work for 14 days. After 4 weeks you can start doing your activities again, such as sports and heavy physical work.
