LABIOPLASTY
Ideally, the inner labia minora are completely covered by the outer labia. However, due to hormonal changes or a weak connective tissue, it can happen that the inner labia become too long or too large, so that they protrude from the covering of the outer labia and are therefore clearly visible. This can lead to pain during movement and unpleasant skin irritations, as well as affecting the quality of life and sexuality of affected women. In these cases, a labia correction or a labia reduction can make sense.
LABIA CORRECTION OF THE INNER LABIA
Labiaplasty is a day treatment and takes an hour on average. During the examination, the amount of excess skin to be removed will be determined in consultation with the cosmetic gynecologist. Under local anesthesia and in twilight sleep, the excess tissue from the labia is removed and adjusted, after which the blood vessels are cauterized. The wound is then sutured with absorbable suture material.
LABIA CORRECTION OF THE OUTER LABIA
The outer labia majora, together with the inner labia, protect the vagina. The labia majora may be enlarged due to excess skin and/or fat. Some women find the labia minora disfiguring or physically suffering from it. Labiaplasty can resolve this discomfort.
During a labiaplasty of the outer labia, the excess fat and/or skin tissue is removed. Before the treatment, the cosmetic gynecologist or plastic surgeon will determine in consultation with you how much tissue will be removed. The excess skin is then removed and the blood vessels are destroyed. Finally, the wound is sutured with removable sutures.
Labia can also become wrinkled or weaker after significant weight loss, childbirth and aging. To make them look rejuvenated, you can also choose the lipofilling method and inject the labia with the body's own fat.
The operations are usually carried out on an outpatient basis and under local anesthesia in twilight sleep. The individual procedure takes approximately one hour.
RISKS AND RECOVERY
Immediately after the operation, the labia will be swollen and painful. You may also have some blood loss. On the first day after labiaplasty, swelling and bruising increase. You can control the pain with painkillers and cool down for at least 10 minutes every hour for the first 2-3 days. Most of the symptoms have subsided after a week. Sports, sexual intercourse, cycling, horse riding and heavy physical work are not recommended in the first 6 weeks after the procedure. The final result is visible 3-6 months after treatment. The scars from the labia correction are not visible after final healing.
