RHINOPLASTY
A well-shaped nose is considered a special ideal of beauty. If the nose stands out from the harmonious overall appearance of the face because it is too large, crooked or unsightly, this can lead to dissatisfaction with one's own external appearance. A nose operation can help to positively influence the position, size, height and width of the nose and thus create an aesthetic appearance. All shape-changing measures on the outer and inner nose can be summarized as nose correction, or rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty is considered one of the most complex procedures in aesthetic surgery. The nose is a very extensive structure consisting of a wide variety of tissue types.
Changes must be carefully thought through and implemented in order not to endanger the complex interaction of bones, cartilage, mucous membrane and skin. As a rule, nose surgery on the outer nose is a cosmetic procedure. For example, bumps on the nose or a hanging tip of the nose are treated during nose surgery. A nose reduction or the straightening of the nasal septum, which is often responsible for the crooked position of the entire nose, can also help to fulfill the patient's desire for subjectively perceived greater beauty.
In addition to medical correction, nose surgery can also ensure a beautiful aesthetic result. It is not necessarily possible to impose every ideal of beauty on every nose. The anatomical structure of the nose plays a major role in nasal surgery. However, advanced technology and the various types of treatment now offer a wide range of options to almost meet the patient's wishes.
A well-operated nose can look completely natural and beautiful. Provided that modern and individually adapted surgical techniques are used instead of the very common “standard surgical procedures”. The additional effort involved is definitely worth it. In order to achieve a harmonious impression, the shape and size of a nose must be in the correct relationship to the other facial features. The treating doctor must also take the patient's ideas and wishes seriously and include them in his planning - because in the end the patient must be able to identify with his "new" nose. All of this is possible with modern structure-preserving surgical techniques. Perhaps most important, however, is that the surgeon not only has medical knowledge and the necessary sensitivity, but above all a strong sense of facial aesthetics.
Nasal septum correction
With a nasal septum correction, the central wall in the nose is straightened. Due to injuries or genetic influences, there are very different deformations that can cause different symptoms for the patient, such as breathing problems or nosebleeds. To eliminate the cause, different techniques can be used for nasal septum surgery. The procedure is carried out through the nasal opening, so that no visible scars appear after the nasal septum correction. The nasal septum consists mainly of cartilage elements and bone parts. During surgery on the nasal septum, the nasal mucosa is separated from bone and cartilage. This means that the deformed parts of the nasal septum can be separated and straightened. The nasal septum correction takes place under general anesthesia.
NOSE REDUCTION
A nose reduction, as the name suggests, is a treatment in which the nose is reduced or narrowed. Often the aim is not to help the patient get a small snub nose, but rather to model a nose that gives the face a harmonious expression. It is not uncommon for a nose reduction to also involve reshaping the tip of the nose and reducing the size of the nostrils. A nose reduction is therefore a very complex procedure that is carried out under general anesthesia. Depending on the initial findings, different techniques are used to reduce the size of the nose as desired.
NOSE TIP CORRECTION
A nose tip correction can be carried out as an individual measure or as part of a comprehensive nose operation. Most of the time it is a rather uncomplicated procedure, as no bone tissue is removed during a nose tip operation, but only cartilage tissue is removed or remodeled. For example, nose tips can be reduced or enlarged, raised or lowered and straightened. Nasal tip correction is an operation with purely aesthetic intentions for patients who often feel that the tip of their nose does not match the rest of the nose.
NOSE BUMP CORRECTION
Nasal humps are cartilage tissue or bones that curve outward in a shapeless manner on the upper bridge of the nose. This type of deformation is particularly noticeable in profile, making many patients feel unattractive. The desire for corrective measures to remove, remove or straighten the nasal hump is one of the most common reasons for a nose operation - especially if the deformation also causes functional disorders such as breathing problems. The surgical procedure on the hump nose must be individually tailored to the nose of the respective patient.
RISKS AND RECOVERY
In the first few weeks after nose surgery, the nose should be treated with extreme caution. In addition, aftercare for a rhinoplasty is crucial.
It is completely normal for nasal breathing to become obstructed during this time, as the mucous membranes are still swollen and the wound secretion needs to be secreted. After rhinoplasty, there is also a risk of nosebleeds and reduced sensitivity of the tip of the nose, upper lip and nasal mucosa. However, this numbness goes away after a while.
