FOREHEAD LIFT / BROW LIFT

The forehead region is often completely ignored when rejuvenating the face. In addition to the classic facelift, midface lift or neck lift, the forehead lift is being carried out less and less often due to the introduction of botulinium toxin therapy, but is also being mastered. In addition, regardless of the aging process, there are patients who complain about the low position of their eyebrow region. A lift of the upper face, i.e. the forehead, can be a useful measure to correct this condition, both for the aging forehead region, which becomes less attractive due to wrinkles and wrinkles, and for deep-set eyebrows. In contrast to the botulinium toxin treatment, the forehead lift can achieve a permanent condition and at the same time eliminate excess skin and deep-seated eyebrows.

OPEN OR ENDOSCOPIC FOREHEAD LIFTING

Two different access routes are chosen for the open forehead lift. The incision can either be made in the area of the forehead hairline from temple to temple or directly in the area of the hair from ear to ear. Excess skin can be removed at the same time.

In contrast, with an endoscopic forehead lift, an endoscope and corresponding fine instruments are inserted through small skin incisions in the hair and temple areas, with which the operation is then carried out and the underlying tissue is tightened and lifted. Recommended for patients without excess skin.

In all three procedures mentioned, the forehead skin is loosened and parts of the so-called facial muscles in the brow area are tightened. The result is permanent.

TEMPORALLY TEMPLE LIFT

The temple lift is sometimes requested in isolation and sometimes in conjunction with a facelift. As part of the natural aging process, the skin in the temple and side forehead areas becomes slack, so that the side eyebrow often appears to droop. By tightening the skin, the sides of the temples can be lifted. As a result, the appearance often rejuvenates significantly and the look appears younger and clearer. Wrinkles on the sides are reduced and also lifted along their course. In some cases, even side forehead wrinkles are reduced and the upper cheek area is lifted. Endoscopically, with an incision in the sphincterA mid-facelift will also be carried out in the area.

The temple lift as an independent procedure is usually carried out under local anesthesia and in twilight sleep. The operation is carried out through a lateral skin incision in the area of the hairy scalp, approximately 3 cm behind the hairline. This is used to carefully loosen the tissue under the skin and move it backwards and upwards. This is how the effect of the increase comes about. Stable fascia seams under the skin fix the tightening result.

DIRECT EYEBROW LIFTING (BROWLIFT)

A direct eyebrow lift is a very effective and extremely precise procedure. The skin is removed in a spindle shape directly from the upper edge of the brow. A scar will later appear at this point, but it is hardly visible. In order to achieve the best possible scar quality, a complex suture with up to five layers is carried out in the muscles of the subcutaneous tissue and skin.

RISKS AND RECOVERY

The forehead and temple lift, if necessary also combined with other procedures to rejuvenate the eye region, is a routine operation and carries few risks in the hands of an experienced specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery. As with any other surgery, bruising, swelling or inflammation may occur. However, if the health situation is generally good, with antibiotic prophylaxis and a gentle surgical technique, these risks are low. The tightening of the skin layers can lead to a temporary reduction in sensation in the forehead, but this soon improves. Injuries to nerves resulting in permanent loss of function are very rare. The scars usually heal very well and are so hidden in the hairy scalp that they are hardly noticeable.

Overall, it is a safe procedure with few complications. By permanently lifting the brow region, most of the horizontal forehead wrinkles disappear and the face appears significantly more relaxed. Smoothed frown lines and crow's feet make the eye area appear significantly larger. The rejuvenating effect and the positive charisma lead to high patient satisfaction.

We will provide you with everything you need for postoperative aftercare.
